    Update "Operation Cervantes"

    Update "Operation Cervantes"
During the hearing concerning the operation 'Cervantes', which took place in Rome on February 22, public prosecutors asked that Marco Ferruzzi (Tombolino) was sentenced to 16-year imprisonment, Massimo Leonardi to 12-year imprisonment, David Santini (Titto) to 10 year-imprisonment, Danilo Cremonese and Valentina Speziale to 7-year imprisonment, and Sergio |Maria Stefani to 5-year imprisonment.

The court will decide on February 27. The operation Cervantes, the nth Italian judicial frame-up against anarchists, was orchestrated in July 2004 following an explosive attack against the Cervantes institute in Rome. A number of anarchists were investigated and accused of having carried out this attack and others that occurred in 2003 and 2004. Four anarchists were arrested immediately and held in jail until January 2006, whereas another two were arrested on May 2005 and held until January. At the moment Tombolino, Massimo, Titto, Danilo, Valentina and Sergio are under house arrest.

    Verdict "Operation Cervantes", 28.02.2006
Today the court emitted the verdict against the 9 comrades involved in the trial of Rome. The organization has not been recognized, but 3 comrades have been hardly condemned, while the other have been acquitted. Marco, accused of the sending of the bomb letter that exploded between the hands of the cop Sindona, has been condemned to 9 years for "outrage with terrorist purpose", Simone to 6 years with the same charge but accused of the bomb before the city court of Viterbo, Massimo to 3 years for the damaging of a McDonald's. Court decided to not recognize terrorist purpose for the damaging of the McDonald's, as the prosecutor had asked, and Massimo is now free, as the other acquitted comrades. Simone and Marco remain at house arrest. A great hug to the comrades still at house arrest and to those who are now free. If court can decide on their future, equally we can do with our enemy's future. This is for inviting the comrades to resist, and for the servants to not feel themselves immune.
